About the Role: The Catering Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and catering supplies to various event locations and clients. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to maintain the quality and presentation of food items during transport. The driver acts as a representative of the catering company, providing excellent customer service and professionalism at all times. Coordination with kitchen staff and event coordinators is essential to meet delivery schedules and accommodate any last-minute changes. Ultimately, the Catering Driver contributes significantly to the overall success of catering operations by facilitating smooth logistics and client satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in driving and delivering goods, preferably in the food service or catering industry. Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely (up to 50 lbs). Basic knowledge of food safety and handling procedures. Strong time management skills and reliability. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with refrigerated or temperature-controlled vehicle operation. Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns in the catering service area. Customer service experience in a hospitality or food service environment. Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe). Ability to operate delivery management software or GPS navigation tools. Responsibilities: Safely operate company vehicles to deliver catering orders to designated locations within specified timeframes. Load and unload food, beverages, and equipment carefully to prevent damage or spoilage. Verify delivery orders against invoices and ensure accuracy of items delivered. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and clients to confirm delivery details and address any issues. Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure safety and hygiene standards. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving and during deliveries. Assist with setup and breakdown of catering equipment at event sites when required. Skills: The Catering Driver utilizes strong organizational skills daily to plan efficient delivery routes and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
